சல்மோன் போவாசை ராகாபினிடத்தில் பெற்றான்; போவாஸ் ஓபேதை ரூத்தினிடத்தில் பெற்றான்; ஓபேத் ஈசாயைப் பெற்றான்;
ஈசாய் தாவீது ராஜாவைப் பெற்றான்; தாவீது ராஜா உரியாவின் மனைவியாயிருந்தவளிடத்தில் சாலொமோனைப் பெற்றான்; .... யாக்கோபு மரியாளுடைய புருஷனாகிய யோசேப்பை பெற்றான்; அவளிடத்தில் கிறிஸ்து எனப்படுகிற இயேசு பிறந்தார்.

Observation கவனித்தல் : ஆண்களின் ஆதிக்கம் உள்ள வேதாகம குடும்ப அமைப்பில், இயேசுவின் வம்ச வரலாற்றில் நான்கு அருமையான பெண்களை வரிசைப்படுத்துவதில் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் கரிசனை உள்ளவராயிருந்தார். ராகாப் ஒரு கானானியப் பெண். எரிகோவில் வசித்து வந்த அவள் இஸ்ரவேலரின் வேவுகாரர்கள் ஒளிந்து கொள்ள இடமளித்தாள். அவளும் அவள் குடும்பத்தாரும் மாத்திரமே அழிவுக்கு தப்பினர். மோவாபியப் பெண்ணான ரூத் தன் மாமியுடன் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு திரும்பி வந்தாள். தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாக தாவீது செய்த பாவத்துடன் சேர்த்து அறியப்படும் பத்சேபாள் (உரியாவின் மனைவி) ஒரு யூதப் பெண். பரிசுத்த ஆவியால் உற்பவித்து இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைப் பெற்றெடுத்த மரியாள் ஒரு கன்னிகையாயிருந்தாள்.

Application பயன்பாடு : ஒரு புறஜாதிப் பெண்ணிடம் காணப்பட்ட ஆபத்தை தைரியமாக எதிர்கொள்ளும் விசுவாசத்தினை தேவன் அங்கீகரிப்பதை நான் ராகாபின் காரியத்தில் காண்கிறேன். தனது மாமியின் தேவனை தனக்கும் தேவனாக ஏற்றுக் கொண்ட மற்றுமொரு புறஜாதிப் பெண்ணை தேவன் ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறதை ரூத்தின் காரியத்தில் காண்கிறேன். இந்த உலகம் எப்பொழுதும் நினைவில் வைத்திருக்க விரும்பும் பாவங்களைக் கூட மன்னிக்கிறதற்கு தேவனுக்கு உள்ள விருப்பத்தை பத்சேபாளின் காரியத்தின் காண்கிறேன். மரியாளின் காரியத்தில், பின்விளைவுகளைக் குறித்து யோசிக்காமல் அசாத்தியமானவைகளை விசுவாசித்து தேவனுடைய சித்தத்திற்கு கீழ்ப்படிய விருப்பமுள்ள ஒரு இளம் பெண்ணை தேவன் பயன்படுத்துகிறதைக் காண்கிறேன்.

Prayer ஜெபம் : ஆண்டவரே! மற்றவர்களால் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்ட புறஜாதியாரை நீர் வேதாகமத்தில் இடம்பெறச் செய்ய விரும்பியதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன். ராகாபின் துணிவையும், ரூத்தின் விருப்பத்தையும், பத்சேபாளுக்கு நீர் காண்பித்த கிருபை மற்றும் இரக்கத்தையும், மரியாளின் கீழ்ப்படியும் விருப்பத்தையும் எனக்கு தாரும். ஆமென்!

Four ladies

Scripture: Matthew 1: 5-16
Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
David the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,
Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus

Observation: In the male dominated societies of the Bible, the Holy Spirit was careful to list four wonderful ladies in the genealogy of Jesus. Rahab was a Canaanite woman who lived in Jericho and provided a hiding place for Israel ’s spies. She and her family were the only ones to be spared in the destruction. Ruth was a Moabite woman who accompanied her mother-in-law moving back to Israel . Bathsheba was a Jewish woman known as a part of David’s sin against God. And Mary was the virgin impregnated by the Holy Spirit to give birth to Jesus, the Christ.

Application: In Rahab I see God responding to the faith of an outsider that was strong enough to take a risk. In Ruth I see God including another outsider who wanted her mother-in-law’s God to be her God. In Bathsheba I see God’s willingness to forgive sin, even sins the world seems always to remember. And In Mary I see God using a youth willing to believe the impossible and submit to God’s will, probably not even thinking about the consequences that could come her way.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your willingness to include outsiders and those whom others have written off. May I have the courage of Rahab, the desire of Ruth, the grace and mercy You gave Bathsheba, and the willingness of Mary. Amen.
