Scripture வேத வசனம்: 2நாளாகமம் 20:12. நாங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று எங்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை; ஆகையால் எங்கள் கண்கள் உம்மையே நோக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது என்றான் (யோசபாத்).

Observation கவனித்தல் : யூதா ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் சேனைக்கு முன்பாக பாடகர்களை நிறுத்தியபோது, தேவன் அந்நாளில் கொடுத்த ஆச்சரியமான வெற்றியானது, அதை வாசிப்பவர்களும் அதேபோல செய்ய உந்துதலைத் தருகிறது. ஆனால் யூதா ஜனங்கள் அன்று செய்தது தேவன் அவர்களிடம் பேசியதற்குப் பதில் நடவடிக்கையாக எடுத்த விசுவாசசெயல் ஆகும். பரிசுத்த வேதாகமத்தில் இவ்விதமாக அந்த சமயத்தில் மாத்திரமே யுத்தத்தில் வெற்றி உண்டாயிற்று, தேவன் அவர்களுக்கு வெற்றி அளித்த மற்ற யுத்தங்களில் இம்முறை பயன்படுத்தப்படவில்லை.

2Kings 6,7; 2Chronicles 20; 1Timothy 3

Scripture: 2Chronicls 20:12 (Jehoshaphat praying) …For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

Observation: The amazing victory that God gave Judah that day as they set the singers at the front of the army inspires many readers to try to do the same thing. But those tactics were a logical step of faith in response to what God had spoken to them. This is the only time in the scriptures that a battle was won in this manner, but not the only time that God was involved in the victory.

It was good that they saw themselves as powerless to fight this army. It was good that they had no battle plan. It was good that they did not know what to do. It was good, because then they did the right thing—they looked to God! They focused their eyes on God.

The key to victory was not that they placed the singers at the front of the army, but that they waited until they heard from God.

Application: The enemy is greater than me, but not greater than Jesus! If I am going to be victorious, I must keep my eyes on Him! Eve ry day, and several times during the day, it is good for me to re-focus my attention.

Prayer: Lord, as the song says, “Tune my heart to the voice of your Spirit, so I may hear all you whisper to me. Shut out the world and its bright temptations; Focus my eyes, clearly on You!” Amen.
